This edition of Deaf Mosaic features the Deaf NAMES Project, memorials from members of the deaf community to deaf people who have died from AIDS as part of the national AIDS quilt project -- author/physician Oliver Sacks, whose book, "Seeing Voices," examines the role of language in deaf identity and culture -- a protest movement by the Canadian deaf community against certain educational "reforms" -- National Association of the Deaf Day at the 1939 New York World's Fair.
