Daisy escaped an abusive mother in Chicago and flew to Denver where she reconnected with Rian, her childhood friend and protector. Rian is still a scrapper but is also a hacker (& he's good … or bad … depending on perspective; he has been described as being wicked clever at the computer). Rian introduces Daisy to his friends: Bella, a retired actress; Garret, a sculptor and solver of problems; and Veronica, a brilliant attorney. When Daisy stumbles across some ledgers at work that appear to be accounts of criminal activity; her friends agree to help determine if her boss at Alto's Alterations and Cleaners is laundering more than garments. If her boss finds out Daisy is snooping; she could be in a lot of hot water.
