The CD-ROM provides various types of images and short movies of solar activities taken by the Transition Region and Coronal Explorer (TRACE), the first U.S. led solar research satellite to observe the Sun during the rise to solar maximun. TRACE explores how the corona is heated and how the magnetic field and ionized gases interact.
