"In this discussion of the problems of toleration which arise in multi-cultural and multi-racial society, the authors focus their attention on the conflicts which can occur between minority cultures and the dominant society. They raise questions about the role of group membership in the formation of individual identity, the tensions which may arise between individual identity and allegiance to the group, and the possibility of resolving those tensions through dialogue.
