The secrets between us
After being fired from her job as a servant, Bhima forms a partnership with Parvati to sell produce at the local market and makes her first true friend. Poor and illiterate, Bhima had faithfully worked for the Dubash family, an upper-middle-class Parsi household, for more than twenty years. After speaking the truth about a heinous crime perpetrated against her own family, she was cruelly fired. Searching for some other way to support herself and her granddaughter, Maya, Bhimi's path intersects with Parvati, a bitter, taciturn older woman. The two form a partnership selling fruits and vegetables at the local market. As they work together, each confesses the truth about their lives and the wounds that haunt them.
