"Marcel Proust's links with Versailles are numerous: many of his friends, in the world of arts and letters, resided there; he has often visited it; he knew Pierre de Nolhac, chief curator of the estate; he read a lot of literary works or historical works about Versailles. The survey conducted here, in association with the Versailles area, brings together curators and academics to revive this world of friendships and culture. A whole society of the Belle Epoque must be restored to reconstruct these links, through rare documents and archive material, and to understand what role plays the symbolism of Versailles, sometimes visible, sometimes underlying, in the Developing the Recherche du temps perdu."--Hermann.
