International Migration into Europe
"Migratory pressure is growing and with it the challenge to address the integration of migrants into the social fabric of the EU in a coherent and comprehensive manner. Migrants are subject to different forms and degrees of marginalization in the inclusion-exclusion continuum, which in turn leads to exposure to different forms and degrees of risk and vulnerability. The transcultural subject finds himself/herself excluded from the host society. In this respect migrants are transformed from being legal subjects as they turn into legal abjects. The process of abjectification is not linear, and differs according to one's differential inclusion and/or exclusion in the host country.
