Early Ottoman printing
Complete collection of the 23 titles published by the Müteferrika Press, the first Turkish printing house, founded in Istanbul in 1727 by Ibrahim Müteferrika (1674-1745), a Hungarian convert to Islam. The earliest printed works from the Ottoman Empire are important source material for the history of Ottoman culture, the transmission of knowledge from Europe to the Ottoman Empire and back, and book history in general.
