Beyond the family
de A. F. Robertson · Publicada por primera vez en 1991
""In this book I want to put the political-economic and reproductive processes back together, to show how each is influenced by the other. I shall argue that reproduction is not simply a family affair, but has helped to shape all aspects of our modern societies, including such things as salaries and mortgages, suburbs and social classes, which might be thought of as determined by strictly material interests. My purpose is to reveal something of the theoretical importance of reproduction to other social scientists: that there are things about banks and factories or political parties which can only be explained by understanding the influence of reproductive processes, and which even the most elaborate economic and political analyses will fail to reveal.
