A Summer on Fire Island
Located on the southern tip of Long Island, Fire Island has long been a beachside haven from the claustrophobia of New York City. Goodman’s semi-fictional account of the retreat paints a picture of idyllic gay youth culture during the sexual liberation of the 1960s.
