A Long Way from Tipperary

William Parker Carrol (1776-1849) outside Nenagh, County Tipperary, Ireland to William and Susannah Parker Carrol. He became a general in the British Army and was with the Duke of Wellington in the Penninsular Campaign of the Napoleonic Wars. William married Emma Sophia Sherwell and they were the parents of two sons. One of the sons was William Hutchison Carrol (1818-1895) who married Elizabeth Griffin and was the father of five children. Descendants live in Ireland and England.
