Looks briefly at the history of Auckland Zoo, and discusses some of the animals that are kept there and the zookeepers who care for them. Animals featured are: chimpanzees, meerkats, rhinoceroses, lions, giraffes, tuataras, an Asian elephant called Kashin, hippopotamuses, tamarins, Sumatran tigers, orangutans, tarantulas, servals, otters and red pandas. Suggested level: primary, intermediate, junior secondary.
