The Godolphin Arabian (also referred to as the "Godolphin Barb") is one of the three founding sires of the Thoroughbred racehorse. Sue's story of how the stallion was sent from Morocco to France and wound up in England is historical fiction. His book is the basis for Marguerite Henry's *King of the Wind*.
