From its initial publication this book has been a standard text on the subject. Since then there has been increased interest and work has developed in many areas, thus prompting a new edition. Following the style of the first edition, the authors make the results and methods of stochastic geometry and spatial statistics accessible to practitioners and non-theoreticians. The book is also ideal as an introduction to the subject for mathematicians. The exposition is mathematically precise and takes into account the latest results.
