The case of John Abbott, brewer and magistrate of Canterbury, who was proceeded against and fined five hundred pounds, for mixing and compounding, from deleterious drugs, &c. a certain liquor to imitate and resemble beer, prepared from beer-grounds, stale-beer, sugar-water, distillers-spent-wash, liquorice, molasses, vitriol, quashia, coculus-indicus, grains of paradise, Guinea-pepper, opium, bay-leaves, &c. &c : including Mr. Brougham's remarks on the case, made in the House of Commons, on Tuesday, April 2, 1816, and several public documents.
