Report of the speech of Henry Mayhew, esq., and the evidence adduced at a public meeting held at St. Martin's Hall, Long Acre, on Monday evening, Oct. 28, 1850, convened by the Committee of the Tailors of London, for the purpose of exposing the falsehoods contained in an article that appeared in the Morning chronicle of Friday, Oct. 4th, 1850, on the sweating, or domestic system, and to exhibit to the public the terrible evils engendered by this system, whether regarded in a moral, physical, religious, social, or sanitary point of view.
