Edward Grieg is best known for his incidental music for Henrik Ibsen's play Peer Gynt. His works include orchestral suites, violin sonatas, and numerous ethnic melodies and piano pieces. Works interwoven throughout the program include the Piano concerto no.1, Peer Gynt suite no.1 and 2, Peer Gynt overture, and Wedding Day at Troldhargen.
