Khari Jackson and Malcolm Shanks open their workshop zine with a statement of intention that says "i (khari) want everyone to rise above colonial understandings of gender" and "i (malcolm) want us to make contact with our ancestors." Khari and Malcolm explore the effects of imperialism on gender with black and white comics that share the history and news excerpts. Additionally, there are exercises that a group of people can participate in to explore their individual relationship to gender and reflect on past experiences. –Grace Li "This provocation is intended to intervene in some of the current tensions around solidarity/support work as the current trajectories are counter-liberatory from the perspective of the Indigenous Action Media."--The authors.
