The Wessels collection is still growing, adding prints from both artistics movements. Currently, some 1000 prints have been assembled, of which just under 900 date from the 20th century. The collection's initial emphasis has been on the prints of the female form. 'Shin hanga' artists such as Hashiguchi Goyo, Ito Shinsui, Torii Kotondo, Kobayakawa Kiyoshi, Hirano Hakuho, Komura Settai, and Kitano Tsunetomi are well represented. Landscapes in the 'Shin hanga' movement constitute a minority in the collection.
