Overhead is the burning sun, underfoot the burning sand, while brightly coloured fish devour each other in the rock pools and time has no stop. With a painter's eye Fred Uhlmann evokes the beauty and terror of a primitive landscape. As the tension mounts to its grim conclusion, the end is not easily divined.
