The Manual identifies the significant data, procedures and criteria that should be considered in the planning and evaluation of both comprehensive pedestrian systems and individual facilities. Volume I provides a general background and introduction to pedestrian planning and to the technical procedures of Volume II. Volume II is operational and sequential in nature. Volume III explains the derivation of the data provided in Volume II and presents considerably more detailed data and methodologies for various tasks as well as worked examples.
